Budgets

Budgets live at the reporting-line level — they survive account remapping and roll up with the same math as actuals.

Entering

Financials tab → Edit budget → a fiscal-year grid of your IS lines by month. Type natural-positive numbers for everything (revenue and costs alike); the line's behavior supplies polarity. Save writes only the cells you touched.

Syncing from Xero

Sync from Xero in the grid header pulls the organisation's budget through your existing account mappings. Unmapped budget accounts are reported, never dropped. Grid edits remain the override — re-sync overwrites synced months.

Using

Set Compare to Budget on any IS view for budget columns plus Var $ / Var % with favourability colors. Monthly detail compares the YTD against budget-YTD.
